Labyrinth of Jareth Masquerade:
The LOJ is a fantasy masquerade of unique character and
inspiration. Costumes or formal wear and mask are required to
enter the event, (that includes all of the event staff).
Costumes range from faeries and goblins to beautiful Victorian
garb, elaborate armors, and period attire along with a host of
fantasy creatures and characters. We encourage imagination and
diverse interaction. Each year, Sypher Art Studios hosts the
Labyrinth of Jareth Masquerade to pay homage to our inspirations
and submerge our patrons in a special night of art, music, dance
and fantasy.
Doors open at
8pm - introduction at 9:30pm
Costumes or Masks are Mandatory! Imaginative costumes are highly
recommended
Tickets are available in advance for $25.00 each.

UPDATE: Greetings and Salutations to every fey and goblin lurking on
the Sypher Mailing List. There is so much going on within these artistic
realms that itšs impossible to keep up with all the preparations and
plans for this yearšs gathering of the court. The LOJ Website has just
gone through a major overhaul. Check out the new artifacts offered,
including a limited offering of Signed Books by Brian and Wendy Froud.

This is also the first year wešre going to have an official
PRE-SHOW event with Brian Froud and Wendy Froud. The Pre-Show tickets
are extremely limited, so purchase yours very soon. The PRE-SHOW tickets
are ONLY available online.
For the moment, wešre working at a hurried pace with only 5 weeks before
the masquerade. The faeries are waking the dragons within the skies of
Los Angeles and glittering the edge of their wings in anticipation.
Ticket deadlines are fast approaching as well.

SYPHER ROYAL ART GALLERY: Displaying works from:
BRIAN FROUD: Mr. Froudšs books and artwork remain important
glimpses into the realms of Faerie. He was the Production Designer and
Lead Artist for the movies "LABYRINTH" and "THE DARK CRYSTAL". His books
include "Faeries", "Good Faeries, Bad Faeries" and "Lady Cottingtonšs
Pressed Faerie Journal". Brian will be at the LOJ with his newest books
and prints, including the special 25th anniversary edition of "The World
of the Dark Crystal"
WENDY FROUD: Wendy worked as sculptor and puppet builder for Jim
Henson for many years, primarily on the films THE DARK CRYSTAL,
LABYRINTH and THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. Several copies of her bestselling
"Old Oak Woods" series of books will be at the masquerade, including:
"The Winter Child", "The Faeriešs Spring Cottage", and "Midsummer
Faeriešs Tale".

SYPHER STUDIOS: The artists of Sypher Art Studios are displaying
their gallery exhibits within the masquerade, including sculpted
displays and works from Adam Gastelum, Virgil Simpelo, Adrianne Grady
and Shawn Strider. New Artwork and Publications will be on sale in the
LOJ Royal Gallery. The artists of Sypher will be signing throughout the
night.

The purpose of this newsletter is to announce Friends of the Trees 2003:
WORKSHOPS, GATHERINGS, and COURSES.
FAIRY & HUMAN RELATIONS CONGRESS , 3rd Annual JUNE 27-29. The Congress
promises to be even larger and more exciting this year. The biggest news
is that DOROTHY MACLEAN and DAVID SPANGLER will be joining us this year
as well as RJ STEWART and 22 other presenters. For photos and lots of

MARCH 1-2. RJ. STEWART weekend workshop in Seattle on the faery realm. I
personally recommend RJ's workshops and attend every one he does in
Seattle.

PERMACULTURE DESIGN COURSE.
August 30 to September 14. An accreditted two-week course in the North
Cascades. Skalitude Retreat Center, Twisp, Methow Valley. This course
will have a particular focus on Pacific Northwest climates.
Permaculture design is useful anywhere in the world.

GREEN MEN'S HERBAL GATHERING, 1st Annual.
February 20-22, 2004 (Tentative date). Duvall, Snoqualmie Valley.
Presenters include: David Hoffman, Ryan Drum, Michael Pilarski and
others. This will be the first men's herbal gathering in the US to our
knowledge. All green men are invited.
